Bright light houses to black san beaches and GOT filming locations, Iceland offers a wide rage of opportunities for landscape photographers. Summer is a pain to capture any sunset or sunrise as there is an extremely small window of opportunity. The last picture in this set is the one where sun never set in that location.
A paradise for sea birds, beautiful horses and blanketed purple with an invasive species of lupine (blue bonnets), Iceland is a paradise for photographers. Whale watching is a must in the north fjords where we saw multiple humpback whales and got a glimpse of a blue whale. Beware of the aggressive artic terns which are very territorial and are not afraid to dive bomb on our heads.
In the land of 10000 waterfalls, every valley is a channel to create beautiful waterfalls from the snow melts. From delicate twisting strings to thin flowing sheets which sway gently in the wind to roaring torrents every one of them is a treat to watch.
From the land of Ice and Fire, I was able to capture only Ice during my visit. The Vatnajökull ice cap is the source of multiple glaciers which are close to Jökulsárlón. The ice cave walk is a must do for any enthusiasts and adventure loving folks. I highly recommend talking a glacier walk to experience the beauty of water in its solid phase!
Beautiful cities and town in Iceland captured in June 2024. The architecture of Hallgrímskirkja (Church of Hallgrímur) to the colorful roofs of smaller churches and buildings across the country is very inspiring. The natural setting of these churches in beautiful location is divine!
My first visit to Hawai‘i Islands. Beautiful landscape born in fire over millennia fed by multiple volcanoes. Different ecosystems and geologies through out the Island taking you from a balmy 90 degree Fahrenheit weather on the coast to 30 degree Fahrenheit weather on top of Mauna Kea. Rainforests, grasslands, deserts and waterfalls in a small area shows the diversity of this Island. I hope these pictures give you a glimpse of Earth’s power and bounty!
Beautiful Flora and Fauna of Big Island, Hawai‘i. I was lucky to see nene(Branta sandvicensis) in the Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. Some of the flowers you see are invasive species. The ferns are native and you can see the way leaves unfurl from the curled up structures.
Amazing sunset from different locations on the Big Island of Hawai‘i! What you see here are from three different locations. One set from the beach, second set from the airbnb I stayed at and the third set from top of Mauna Kea. Some of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen. I hope to go there and get some sunrise pictures from the east side of the Island!
Seattle has an amazing skyline which can be viewed from multiple places. Kerry Park is one such location nestled in Queen Anne neighborhood. If you visit Seattle, make it a point to visit this park for the wonderful views of downtown. With a full moon in the background, it will be a memorable experience.
My first visit to Canada! I chose this beautiful place to visit just before summer time to avoid the tourist season. Weather was awesome with a couple of days hotter than the Bay Area! Stayed in downtown Vancouver next to Stanley Park. Spent most of time roaming the city and Stanley Park. Some of the images are taken using my Canon 5D Mark iv and some of them using my Shen Hao 4X5 Large Format Camera.
I used two types of film on this trip. Kodak Ektar 100, a color negative film and Fuji Velvia 100, a color transparency film. I had read reviews about Fuji Velvia 100 being bad and I concur with their assessment. It is leagues apart from Fuji Provia 100 and its more famous Fuji Velvia 50. I am not sure if I will use this film again. Ektar gave me good results and I will definitely be using it for more landscape photos.
