Costa Rican culture, or "Tico culture," is a blend of Spanish, Indigenous, and African influences, characterized by the phrase "Pura Vida" (pure life), which embodies a laid-back, optimistic, and family-oriented lifestyle. From pre-Columbian “metates” (grinding stones) to Spanish colonial architecture, this country offers an unique experience of the old world and the new world. I had the privilege of visiting Costa Rica when it celebrated its independence day (September 15th) with parades and music by talented kids!
